Beekeepers in Bulgaria to receive support under emergency aid due to Ukraine war

Beekeeping in Bulgaria will be financially supported in 2023 through the sub-measure for extraordinary temporary support for farmers who are particularly affected by the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Krum Nedelkov at the opening of the 20th edition of the International Exhibition "Beekeeping - Pleven 2023".

Nedelkov specified that beekeeping is the only sub-sector of animal husbandry that until the end of 2022 is supported through an independent program.

Last year, farmers from the sector received additional aid of 13 BGN /6.65 EUR/ per bee family due to Covid-19, and now due to the complicated foreign political situation related to the war in Ukraine, which has a negative impact on the economy, it will be in the amount at 24 BGN /12.27 EUR/ per bee family.
