After 14 years in power, Fandakova will not run for mayor of Sofia

I will not run for mayor of the capital, and what I will do after that I have not yet decided, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fankudova told the media.

"Now I still have a lot of work to do. As you can see, there are things that require a lot of time. Citizens are impatient. Sometimes it seems to me that some things happen very slowly. But the most important thing is that they happen," Fandakova said at the ceremony of the symbolic turning of the first sod of the so-called Garden of famous Bulgarian actress Tatiana Lolova.

Seeking support, many politicians announce ideas. But when it's time for real work and you have to comply with the law, difficulties come, commented Fandakova. She hopes that by the end of 2023 construction on a new 6 km stretch from the metropolitan subway could start through Slatina district, for which financing has already been secured.
