Exactly at 9:45 Bulgarian time on February 15, on national and regional air, the BNR programs will broadcast the song "People Help the People", performed by young British singer Birdy. In this way, the public radio in this country supports the initiative of the Dutch Public Broadcaster (NPO) for solidarity with the victims of the devastating earthquakes that affected Turkey and Syria.

“Radio touches emotion and music is a universal language. These tragic times need us to unite, cross bridges, join forces to help and show our support. It would be great if as many European radio stations as possible participate in this event”, Station Manager Menno de Boer says.

The number of victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 37,500 and tens of thousands more have lost their loved ones, home, hope... In the timelessness between shock and despair, the only hope is in the help that comes from other people - on time and from everywhere. That is why today European radio stations will play the song "People Help the People" performed by 26-year-old British singer Birdy, who became "Singer of the Year" at the Pop Awards 2022. The song is a single by British band Cherry Ghost from 2007. Birdy covered it in 2011. The black and white video to the song has over 193 million views on Youtube.
