Bulgaria's Lia Karatancheva qualifies for the third round in Santo Domingo tennis tournament

Bulgarian tennis player Lia Karatancheva qualified for the third round of the singles hard court tennis tournament in Santo Domingo with a prize fund of 25 thousand dollars. Karatancheva defeated Hannah Chan (USA), number 14 in the rankings and 313th in the world, 7:5, 6:1 in an hour and 52 minutes.

Karatantcheva will be playing against the second seed Carole Monnet of France for a place in the quarterfinals.

The doubles match of Lia Karatancheva and Hina Inoue (USA) against the Americans Jada Myii Hart and Rasheeda McAdoo was suspended at 5:7, 4:4 and will be played later today.
