"The Ministry of Defense is ready to continue providing the necessary humanitarian assistance to Turkey." This was stated by the Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov at a meeting at the Ministry with the Ambassador of Turkey H.E. Eileen Sekizkök, reminding that Bulgaria was among the first to respond after the earthquake.

Ambassador Sekizkök thanked, noting that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, this was the strongest gesture of solidarity that Bulgaria has shown.

"Until this moment, we addressed you as neighbours, friends. We now address you as brothers and sisters. You responded in the first hours after the tragedy and sent your rescue teams with military planes, which pulled many people out from under the rubble," said Sekizkök and pointed out that the help provided by Bulgaria was extremely valuable.
According to the latest data, 41 thousand people have died after the earthquakes so far, and 2 million people have been left without homes, according to the Ministry of Defense.
