The Ministry of Health and Italian company "Leonardo S.p.A" have signed an agreement to provide six helicopters, included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with the necessary equipment and apparatus for the needs of emergency medical assistance. The first helicopter will be in Bulgaria on December 15, 2023, and the others will arrive by 2025. This is what Minister of Health Assen Medzhidiev said at a briefing in the Council of Ministers.
The minister added that training of medical teams and pilots will be provided, landing sites will be designated and a main coordination center will be created. A team from the ministry will visit the medical facilities in the country to select suitable places for the helicopters to land, in order to provide timely and comprehensive medical care.
