There is a conviction of life imprisonment without parole, for the two accomplices of the Sarafovo bomber, Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev announced. The verdict of the Lebanese citizens Meliad Farah and Hassan el-Hajj Hassan was upheld by the Supreme Court of Cassation. The civil claims of the heirs of the five deceased Israeli citizens and one Bulgarian national are respected, the Prosecutor's Office said.

On July 18, 2022, a bus with Israeli tourists was blown up in the parking lot of Sarafovo Airport near Burgas. Five Israeli citizens and their Bulgarian driver were killed.
