Artists call for change in Bulgaria’s policy in the sphere of culture

The scandals in the Ivan Vazov National Theater that led to the dismissal of director Alexander Morfov have provoked famous artists to form "Culture Movement". Their first action will be to hold a march on March 16 from the Ministry of Culture to the Council of Ministers and the Presidency with a request for legislative changes in the field of culture.

"We are not protesting at all. We are setting parameters which our institutions and MPs can work on", said one of the founders, Prof. Georgi Kapriev, at a press conference in BTA. "We have no affinity to a specific political formation. We won’t grow into a political formation. We deal with culture," Kapriev added.
