Campaign to check retail outlets across the country begins

On the occasion of the World Consumer Day - 15 March, for the 14th year in a row, inspectors from the General Directorate of Market Surveillance at the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Supervision began inspections in retail outlets across the country. 
The aim of the campaign is to find out whether traders are complying with the Law on Technical Requirements for Products and related regulations for greater safety and consumer protection. The agency said in a statement that inspectors will be checking for the presence of instructions and/or directions for use in Bulgarian, CE marking for compliance with European health, safety and environmental standards, as well as the name and address of the manufacturer and importer, EU declaration of conformity, etc.
