Bulgarian international flights in 2022 have reached 74.8% of the 2019 level. This was announced by the Bulgarian Airlines Association Chair Svetoslav Stanulov at a press conference, at which an aviation market analysis was presented.

There are 19 air carriers with a valid operating licence as of the end of 2022. Currently most of the Bulgarian airlines' aircraft operate in other markets. Due to a shortage of staff, about 10% of pilots in Bulgarian airlines are foreigners. The trend of a decrease in the number of charter flights to Bulgaria continues, one of the reasons being the expansion of low-cost carriers.
