Ministry of Interior reports higher efficiency in fighting organized crime

In 2022, a total of 84 organized criminal groups were neutralized, which is a 22% rise compared to 2021. This is stated in a report by the General Directorate "Fighting Organized Crime" (GDBOP) of the Ministry of Interior.

It is also reported that two channels for heroin trafficking from Turkey to Europe and one for marijuana trafficking from Bulgaria to Turkey have been intercepted. Over 71 kg of heroin, over 2 kg of cocaine, over 360 kg of marijuana and other types of narcotic substances were seized. 95 persons involved in the activities of groups supporting illegal migration were detained.

Checks related to cybercrime also marked a 20% rise.
