"North Macedonia has committed to amend its Constitution to include citizens who live within the borders of the state and who are part of the people – such as Bulgarians", the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said at a joint press conference with North Macedonia’s Premier Dimitar Kovacevski and the Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi in Skopje.

North Macedonia’s capital hosted the EU-Republic of North Macedonia Stabilisation and Asociation Council. “Amending the Constitution will only advance further on fundamental rights. And I have no doubt that this will preserve Macedonian identity and at the same time, will advance (the country) in the accession process”, said Josep Borrell, the BNT reported.
