The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, welcomed the agreement reached to provide 1 million 155-mm artillery shells to Ukraine after the end of the first day of the meeting of the European leaders. "Of course, to achieve this we need to massively increase production capacity in Europe," von der Leyen said.

Item 7 of the document approved by Bulgaria states: "The EU is firmly and fully on the side of Ukraine and will continue to provide strong political, economic, military, financial and humanitarian support to Ukraine and its people for as long as necessary. The EU and its Member States are increasing their efforts to help meet Ukraine's urgent military and defense needs."

"The EU is fully committed to seeking full responsibility for war crimes, including and by creating the appropriate mechanisms for the prosecution of aggressive actions. In this sense, the Community welcomes the agreement on the establishment of an International Center for the Prosecution of Crimes of Aggression against Ukraine in The Hague, which will be linked to the existing joint investigative team supported by Eurojust," the European leaders also decided.

"The EU remains committed to maintaining and increasing collective pressure on Russia through possible additional sanctions, as well as continuing to work for an oil price ceiling together with its partners. The European Council is determined to prevent and combat the circumvention of restrictive measures by third countries," the leaders said.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow and his meeting with President Vladimir Putin, the signing of a number of documents confirming the bilateral partnership amidst the Russian war in Ukraine sends an "alarming signal" that China is ready to support Russia. This was stated by the head of the Pentagon, Gen. Lloyd Austin before the House Finance Committee in Congress. The State Secretary of Defense emphasized that if China provides material support to Russia, the war in Ukraine will continue and turn from regional to global, reports UNIAN
