Three captains and one seaman from the Bulgarian fishing vessels detained in the Romanian port of Constanta will return home today, Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Romania Radko Vlaykov said for BTA.
Six seamen from the three Bulgarian fishing vessels detained in Constanta have already returned to Bulgaria. The fishing vessels will be sealed on a prosecutor’s order. The Bulgarian and the Romanian authorities are conducting a joint investigation into illegal shark fishing. The relatives of the sailors arrived in Constanta and brought them clothes, Ambassador Vlaykov added. The vessels were apprehended on March 23, some 50 nautical miles east of Constanta. The case is being investigated by the Romanian Coastguard.
