Bulgaria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov held a bilateral meeting with US State Secretary Antony Blinken within the framework of the meeting of the NATO foreign ministers in Brussels. The possibilities of providing replacement capabilities for the Bulgarian armed forces due to the draining of the resources at Bulgaria's disposal have been discussed.

For BNR, Milkov pointed out that Blinken has made a commitment that he will contact the Pentagon on this occasion. Asked if the issue of Bulgaria providing expiring weapons to Ukraine and receiving modern American weapons in return was discussed, he replied that this issue should be resolved at the level of parliament and the future government.

According to the decision of the caretaker government, Milkov should be appointed to the currently vacant post of permanent representative of Bulgaria in NATO. He expressed expectation that this will be done by the end of April.
