Antarctica Day to be celebrated at Sofia University

Chairman of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute Hristo Pimpirev is among the speakers

Antarctica Day will be celebrated on 11 April at 10:00 a.m. in the Aula of the Rector's Office of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The event is organized by the Faculty of Geology and Geography of the University and is on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the faculty. 

The Chairman of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute Prof. Dr. Hristo Pimpirev will talk about the romantic years in Bulgarian Antarctic research. Zlatil Vergilov will share his memories of the tribulations during the first Bulgarian expedition in 1987/88. Dr. Docho Dochev will talk about the Bulgarian paleontological research on Livingstone Island. There will be many other interesting and exciting stories.
