A joint declaration by farmers' organisations from 5 EU member states has been signed in Poland, BNR Varna reporter Maya Shcherbanova informs. The demands of farmers from Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania, are for the import of grain from Ukraine to be stopped, for transit corridors to the countries in need to be provided as originally requested, and for the purchase of wheat stored in warehouses to be ensured at a price of €300 per tonne.

The document has been submitted to the European Parliament. Within two weeks, the 11 branch organisations that signed the declaration are awaiting a reply with the measures to be taken on these requests.

The five countries are among the most affected by the import of grain from Ukraine, which has led to numerous protests by farmers in these countries, including border blockades.
