US Air National Guardsman arrested over leaked Pentagon documents

The FBI arrested Jack Teixeira, a member of the US Air National Guard, who they believe is linked to a trove of leaked classified US intelligence documents. Federal authorities are investigating leaks of classified U.S intelligence revealing government secrets about the Ukraine war. Teixeira will appear in court in Massachusetts to face charges. According to the Pentagon, the leak was a deliberate criminal act.

Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is paying an official visit to China. She urged Beijing to call on Russia to stop the war in Ukraine. Ukraine’s state-owned gas company Naftogaz said Russia has been ordered by an arbitration court in The Hague to pay USD 5 billion in compensation for unlawfully expropriating its assets in annexed Crimea in 2014. The company siad it lost offshore rigs, gas pipelines, fleet and administrative buildings because of the annexation.

The European Council has included the Russian paramilitary group Wagner and the Russian news agency RIA FAN on the EU sanctions list. The news agency is part of a media group run by Wagner’s financier, Evgeny Prigozhin.
