Commission takes Bulgaria to the ECJ over toltaxes and mineral waters

The European Commission has referred Bulgaria to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for failing to synchronise its legislation on public procurement of clean vehicles, on the toll tax system and on the sale of mineral and spring waters.

The first proceedings are for Bulgaria's failure to transpose the minimum national procurement targets for clean vehicles into its legislation, the second for Bulgaria's failure to fully comply with the European e-toll system, under which passengers can pay tolls through one subscription contract, one supplier and one structure covering all Member States, and the third for Bulgaria's failure to prohibit the marketing of natural mineral and spring water from the same spring under more than one trade name.

The information was provided by BNR correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova.
