Aleksandra Pehlivanova becomes vice-champion at World School Chess Championships 2023

The World School Chess Championships 2023 took place April 14-22, in Rhodes, Greece. Bulgaria was represented by eight competitors - 4 girls and 4 boys.

Aleksandra Pehlivanova from Chess Club Plovdiv achieved exceptional success in the under-11 age group. With 6.5 points from the 9 games played, she won a silver medal. Aleksandra is leader in her age group in Bulgaria when it comes to international rating. She is also ranked third among girls under 14 years of age.

Nora Rasheva from Pleven achieved two victories and one draw and with 5.5 points she placed sixth in the world among girls under 15 years of age.
