Azerbaijan to double gas deliveries to Europe by 2027, President Ilham Aliyev says

Azerbaijan is planning to double gas deliveries to Europe by 2027, Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan said in Sofia. He was a special guest at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding promoting cooperation between the gas transmission systems operators from Bulgaria (Bulgartransgaz), Romania (Transgaz), Hungary (FGSZ), Slovakia (Eustream) and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). The document is part of the initiative Solidarity Ring, put forward by Bulgaria, which aims to enhance the security of natural gas supplies to the EU.

“The memorandum will enhance connectivity among the countries and increase the capacity of their gas transmission networks,” said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, who hosted the event.
