“The Bulgarian Socialist Party is not going to support the draft budget of the caretaker government,” said Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova, adding that the state budget was anti-social, and included unjustified expenses and understated revenues.
According to the BSP, the 6.4% deficit set down in the budget is unrealistically inflated, and they are demanding that Minister of Finance Rositza Velkova be heard out in parliament. They also want to know whether the information is true that the government has spent, during the first months of the year, more than stipulated by the law, and also whether the first tranche of the money under the Recovery and Resilience Plan was put to other than the intended use and now has to be returned. “The caretaker cabinet wants us to legalize their lawlessness,” Ninova commented.
