Efforts to evacuate 10 Bulgarians from Sudan continue. More than 1,000 EU nationals, among them 21 Bulgarians, have been evacuated over recent days. Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that more than 30 Bulgarian citizens have expressed their wish to be evacuated from Sudan. Some of them have already left the country. Bulgaria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev explained that 3 Bulgarians were evacuated on April 22 with a Saudi Arabian convoy, two left for Egypt and successfully crossed the border.

On April 23, 8 more Bulgarians arrived in Egypt. Two Bulgarians landed in Berlin on the same date with an evacuation flight of the German Air Force. 10 people are still in Sudan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was doing everything possible to ensure a smooth and safe evacuation of all Bulgarian citizens, in coordination with other EU countries
