More than 20 years ago Tony burst onto the music scene in Bulgaria with hits that have come to be emblematic for the start of the new millennium. These past few years she is back with a new kind of music, and a new sound. “One tends to develop a different taste for music – it is evolving differently, not just in Bulgaria, but in the world as well. I have always loved to present what comes out of my soul to listeners – in text and music. When they have come to my concerts people see me perform new, nice things.” This is true of her latest song “Friendship” which brings together the emotions of a journey – so vivid, that Tony transformed it into song.
“Friendship” puts the final touches to this journey. Actually, the song was written before that, with lyrics in English and a different kind of rhythm. But after such an intense experience like our journey, with so many good friends and powerful moments, the title and this new version of the song chose themselves,” says Tony and adds:
“With “Friendship” I wanted to get out of what I have been doing – for the first time I am releasing a remix instead of the original version which we did with my guitarist Shterion Pilidov. That is an artist’s intuition – I wanted to give the people who love my music and me as an artist something different.”
That is why the version of “Friendship” we are offering you is a Mr. Moon remix.
In his unique gentle, intelligent and unobtrusive way Mladen Dimitrov, better known as Mr. Moon did a remix of the song, ready to be made into a video by director Rositsa Ferdinandova.
“The “Friendship” video turned out unorthodox,” Tony says. “It is in fact an animated story. And the story literally reveals moments of the journey to Rome and Marrakech and metaphorically lights the fire of a journey towards love, hope and friendship.”
At the moment Tony and Mr. Moon are working on a new single, and at the end of the year Tony is to bring out a new album of unreleased songs, as well as some brand new pieces.
