Early this morning, Kyiv and several Ukrainian cities were hit by Russian missiles, and a woman and a three-year-old child died in Dnipro. According to the Interfax agency, there were explosions overnight in Dnipro, Kremenchuk and Poltava in central Ukraine, as well as in the southern Mykolaiv region. Photos of a burning nine-story apartment building reportedly in Uman have surfaced on social media. Five people were taken to hospital, authorities said.

More than 1,550 armoured vehicles, 230 tanks, other combat equipment and a huge amount of ammunition have already been delivered to Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced at a briefing at the Alliance's headquarters. This represents 98% of the promised equipment in support of the expected counter-offensive of the Ukrainian forces.

Ukraine has fulfilled the seven recommendations of the European Commission in obtaining the status of a candidate member of the EU and will carry out the necessary reforms to join the community despite the Russian invasion, said at a press conference in Rome Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who participated in a conference on the restoration of the country. According to him, Ukraine will be ready to start negotiations for EU membership by the end of the year.

In an audience with Pope Francis, the minister asked the pontiff to work for the return home of many Ukrainian children - some of them orphans deported to Russia. Denys Shmyhal has invited the head of the Roman Catholic Church to visit Ukraine.
