Koprivshtitsa and Panagyurishte mark the 147th anniversary of the April Uprising

On April 30 and May 1, the town of Koprivshtitsa hosts the celebrations on the occasion of the 147th anniversary since the outbreak of the April Uprising. The commemorative events are to start at 6 pm in Todor Kableshkov House Museum, with the opening of an exhibition "Koprivshtitsa - close and accessible" under a project of the National Culture Fund. In the evening of April 30, there will be commemorative fireworks on “April 20” Square. On May 1, there will be a theatrical performance "The First Gun" which reenacts episodes of the April Uprising". More than 200 local amateur artists from Koprivshtitsa are to participate in the reenactment.

A military-historical reenactment will also take place in the town of Panagyurishte. National Assembly President Rosen Zhelyazkov is expected to attend the commemorative events.
