Europol to investigate incident with Attorney General

Europol has requested access to the investigation into the alleged assassination attempt against Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, BNR has learned. On Monday, an explosive devise went off next to the car in which Mr Geshev was travelling. 

Experts from the European Police Office will be examining evidence collected at the scene, as well as the results of analyses of the impact and nature of the explosive device. In the meantime, Deputy Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov confirmed that negotiations are underway with Europol to assist in the investigation, as well as with other European and non-European partner services.
