The Chairperson of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Kornelia Ninova read a declaration in Parliament calling on the Bulgarian citizens to support the referendum against "gender ideology". "Help us save children at least, support us in the referendum on banning gender ideology in schools. Your signature today is an investment in the lives and future of children, in the future of Bulgaria", Kornelia Ninova said. The declaration of BSP comes against the backdrop of the decision of the European Parliament to approve the European Union’s accession to the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women (Istanbul Convention).
“The county’s constitution and the decision of the Constitutional Court do not mean a thing to these people. The opinion of 80% of Bulgarian citizens does not matter to them”, Kornelia Ninova said with regard to the vote of the Bulgarian MEPs.
