The 10th international karate tournament Sofia Open - the President's Cup starts in Sofia

More than 1100 competitors from 76 karate clubs from 14 countries are gathering today, May 13, in the capital's Asics Arena for the tenth edition of the international karate tournament "Sofia Open - the President's Cup". This year there is a record number of competitors in all age groups of "kata" and "kumite" disciplines, and among them there are a number of world and European champions and medalists. 

The Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Foundation "Sofia - European Capital of Sport" are among the organisers of the tournament. The official opening is at 10 AM local time.
