The procedure for the dismissal of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev could be completed by the end of May, Atanaska Disheva, a member of the Supreme Judicial Council, said for the BNR. In her words, once Ivan Geshev is served with the proposal for dismissal by the six members of the Prosecutor’s College of the Supreme Judicial Council, he has one week for an opinion. After that, a hearing is scheduled on the admissibility of the motion and the proposal is put to the vote. Seventeen votes are needed for the motion to pass, Atanaska Disheva explained.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev returned to Bulgaria from the Unites States and did not comment on the request for his removal.
