Former PM Borissov denies having offered the Attorney General an ambassadorial post

Calling the people's elected representatives "political scumbags" is wrong. I am not in a position to offer ambassadorial posts that are approved by the president. This is how GERB leader Boyko Borissov rejected the claims of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, who said at a press conference that Borissov had offered him a post as ambassador to Turkey or Israel in exchange for his resignation.

Borissov denied having pressured Geshev in the so-called "Barcelona Gate" - a money laundering case involving the GERB leader.

I think the resignation is a personal choice, said Movement for Rights and Freedoms leader Mustafa Karadayi. I myself had no such expectations (that Geshev would resign - ed.).

What happened only shows the need for a thorough judicial reform, GERB candidate for prime minister Maria Gabriel said before starting consultations with MRF representatives.
