Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev has proposed to the Supreme Judicial Council to impose a disciplinary punishment on his deputy Borislav Sarafov, the institution announced.

Earlier today, Deputy Prosecutor General and head of the national investigation Borislav Sarafov filed a report with the city prosecutor's office against Ivan Geshev for three alleged crimes, as well as to the SJC with a request to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the state prosecutor.

In his statement yesterday, the chief prosecutor said that he had advised his deputy to consider whether his ethics, if any, would have guided him to the decision to resign in view of the betrayal to the prosecution and to the Bulgarians.
