The President of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Bulgaria, Seda Kuzucu, and the deputy mayor of Plovdiv, Stefan Stoyanov, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and deepening of the partnership for the support and protection of refugees from the war in Ukraine.

Seda Kuzudzu emphasized that although 48,000 refugees from Ukraine have remained permanently in Bulgaria, they are not felt as a presence because they have successfully integrated.

She emphasized that Plovdiv's hospitality to refugees is very special.

"Here, the system has brought together the authorities, the private sector, and the local community to work together for one goal in supporting refugees. We are discussing how this model can be explored and applied in other places around the world," emphasized Kuzuju, quoted by BNR Plovdiv.
