The Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory at the Institute of Astronomy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has announced today, June 4, an Open Doors Day. According to tradition, it will be organized on the Christian feast of Pentecost, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors to the largest astronomical complex in Southeastern Europe will have a free tour of the observatory's facilities, including the 2-meter telescope - the largest of the observatory's four telescopes, which was installed in late 1979.

June 4 is the patronal feast of the Holy Trinity Chapel, erected in 1935, which is located near the entrance to the observatory tower of the 2-meter telescope.
