Bulgaria is joining the project for the construction of a submarine electric cable in the Black Sea, caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said after a meeting of the steering committee for the construction of the green energy corridor from Azerbaijan to Hungary. According to the project, a submarine electricity cable is to transport green electricity from Azerbaijan to Hungary via Georgia, the bottom of the Black Sea and Romania. The participating countries greenlighted Bulgaria to join the project.

Minister Hristov also pointed out that the possibility of Gazprom to demand and win an arbitration case against Bulgaria is minimized. “We are waiting to receive the lawyers' report to assess whether the Bulgarian company can file a lawsuit against Gazprom Export”, said Rosen Hristov
