On June 12, the Supreme Judicial Council continues the procedure for ousting Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev. The procedure has been started by four members of the SJC after a Geshev's statement that undermines the prestige of the judiciary, according to them. The meeting was postponed due to the requirements for a reasonable period of time for the chief prosecutor to get acquainted with the evidence of the procedure. According to Ognyan Damyanov, a member of the Prosecutor's College of the SJC and one of the proponents of the proposal for early release of Geshev, the SJC will vote when it is ready and the objective truth has been clarified and all the evidence has been collected.

On this occasion, experts commented that President Rumen Radev will sign a decree only after the Constitutional Court's ruling on the case.
