"Bayram brings us new hope and new beginnings," said the Grand Mufti of Muslims in Bulgaria, Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, in his address to the faithful on Radio Bulgaria. He stressed the importance of today's holiday, which gives believers the opportunity to turn a new page in their lives. Qurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha) also gives "new hope, because the kurban we sacrifice is a good example for us how we should be selfless and in service of the community."

"In this line of thought, every person must be useful to society, because only in this way can he show that he exists. Any man who lives for his own sake loses the meaning of his life. Bayram is a time when we have the opportunity to make our relatives happy, visit our parents and improve our relations with people with whom we have had some conflicts. It is a good time to share our happiness with all people, regardless of their religious or ethnic background. Kurban Bayram is a good occasion to share our happiness with all people, whether they are among us, in hospital, in a wheelchair or some other place that does not allow them to celebrate with us.

May Allah bestow everyone with prosperity! Happy Bayram!"
