The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) has upheld the two-year ban on swimmer Antani Ivanov for missing doping tests, the Bulgarian Olympic Committee said. The sanction is retroactive, but the Bulgarian swimmer will miss the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Antani Ivanov was sanctioned by the Bulgarian Olympic Committee’s disciplinary commission in October last year. He subsequently lodged an complaint, which led to a temporary rehabilitation. Ivanov missed doping tests, because he had not updated his current address which is in violation of the World Anti-Doping Code.

In 2021, at the European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Antani Ivanov set a national record in 200m butterfly. He stopped the clock at 1:54.72.
