Hristo Ivanov: Bulgaria will not change its position on North Macedonia

No change is being prepared in Bulgaria's position regarding North Macedonia as well as no additional concessions in order to start faster negotiations for membership in the European Union, the co-chairman of "Democratic Bulgaria" Hristo Ivanov has told BNR.

He added that the adopted framework cannot be renegotiated. "We have to find a way to protect our interests, but also a way to repair the relationship between the two peoples, as we allowed some politicians from both sides to inject hatred," the MP pointed out.

According to Ivanov, in recent years Bulgaria has suffered a historic failure in the so-called public diplomacy in its relations with North Macedonia. "We want to get closer to our brothers, but we achieve the exact opposite", Hristo Ivanov added.
