The poorest pensioners will receive social benefits to be added to their pensions so they can reach the poverty line, but starting next year, Finance Minister Asen Vassilev said at the meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, which is discussing the state budget.

With regard to sick leave, as of 2024 employers will only pay for the first two days of sick leave, not the first three as is the case now.

The new budget will keep the minimum wage at 399 euro, but will increase the maternity allowance by 35 euro for the second year and bring it in line with the minimum wage. It was also pointed out at the meeting that from 2022, information on people's real incomes will be collected, not just their taxable incomes, and next year's accounts will be based on it.

The National Council for Tripartite Cooperation supported, although not unanimously, the budgets of the social security and health insurance, as well as the state budget for 2023, Finance Minister Asen Vassilev said after the meeting. He added that the state budget is within the framework presented - 3% deficit, 1.8% growth of the economy, 8.7% inflation, preserved social payments and income policy of the caretaker cabinet, which has been upgraded, refined capital spending.
