Ministry of Health proposes to drop quarantine requirement in Covid-19 cases

The Bulgarian Ministry of Health wants to lift isolation and quarantine for coronavirus patients and their contact persons. However, a possible change in the Health Act could be made possible after a public discussion. Among the reasons for the proposal are reported decline in prevalence, lower severity of the disease, as well as reduced workload of the hospital system.

Established immune protection after overcome illness and vaccination has also been pointed out, as well as the fact that there is no higher mortality from Covid-19 as a result of the currently circulating variants. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 1,309,093 confirmed cases of coronavirus in our country, and 38,426 people have died.
