British passengers were fearing for their lives when an 'extremely drunk' passenger allegedly tried to open the plane door during a flight from Turkey to the UK, dailymail.co.uk. writes.
The Jet2 aircraft, which was bound for Glasgow and packed with holidaymakers travelling home from Bodrum, was forced to make an emergency landing in Bulgaria last night. Police in Sofia then boarded the airliner and arrested him. After noticing what the man was doing, passengers sat near him are said to have bravely tackled him before the crew were alerted and the plane was grounded. Shocking footage shows the man stumbling and appearing to resist officers as he is bundled down the aisle of the plane, while furious passengers yell 'scumbag' and 'idiot' at him. The plane eventually landed back in Glasgow in the early hours of this morning.
52-year old passenger Anthony Spence and his daughter, who was also onboard commented that the drunk man should never have been allowed to board the plane, BNR’s correspondent in London Veselin Paunov reports.
