The town of Smolyan hosts the third edition of the Rhodope International Documentary Film Fest (RIFE). The festival begins today at 19.00 pm in the amphitheater in front of the "Nikolay Vranchev" Regional Library with the premiere of "Love, Deutschmarks and Death" by German director Cem Kaya.
The film tells the story of the independent and largely unknown music of Turkish immigrants in Germany. “No Place for You in Our Town” is among the Bulgarian films presented at RIFE. The film tells the history of the mining city of Pernik through the everyday life of a group of football fans.
More than 50 films from Bulgaria and 24 other countries will be presented at the film fest. Everyone will have access to the festival free of charge. Ecology and biodiversity conservation are the main focus of the festival. Many of the films will be presented personally by their authors.
