Three new regional plans to protect NATO allies will be adopted at the Alliance's summit in Vilnius next week, one of which covers the Black Sea region, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a briefing.

He motivated the adoption of the plans as necessary to strenghten the deterrence and defence of the Alliance. They will address NATO's two biggest challenges - Russia and terrorism, BNR Brussels correspondent Angelina Piskova reports.

NATO expects Bulgaria to spend $1.885 billion on defence this year, which is 1.84 percent of the country's gross domestic product.
