French Total and Austrian OMV, who are exploring the Black Sea gas deposits, expect to find 13 bcm in the Khan Asparuh exploration block near Varna. The two companies told this to the Parliamentary Energy Committee and the news was announced on Facebook by Committee Chairman Delyan Dobrev. He will propose the state to join the consortium as a shareholder with up to 35% stake. The MP will submit the draft next week.

Former Energy Minister Dobrev points out that Bulgaria uses 2.5 bcm annually. The expected production of Bulgarian gas in the Bulgarian special economic zone in the Black Sea will be 5 times higher, so the country will be able to export blue fuel to Europe.
