Gold seekers from all over Bulgaria gather near Vratsa

The gold panners' national gathering will be held on July 15 in the Ledenika locality near Vratsa. It is the largest fair of gold prospectors in Bulgaria. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Gold Nugget and Meteorite Hunting Assocciation, which is the only one of its kind on the Balkan Peninsula.

There is a competition for gold panning and a competition for searching with metal detectors in a fenced place. The competition is open to all who wish to take part, and there are various prizes for the winners. This is the second gold prospectors' gathering for 2023, after the one in June in Parvomay, where over 250 prospectors gathered. The third gathering of gold prospectors is planned for September in Stara Zagora Baths.

According to the Underground Resources Act, extraction of gold from riverbeds by manual panning is allowed in Bulgaria, with the exception of natural parks, where many other activities are prohibited.
