Swimming marathon from St. Anastasia island – a challenge to swimmers from near and far

A 6,400 m. open water swimming marathon is taking place from St. Anastasia island to the bridge at Burgas’ central beach today, 15 July.

For the first time the event is part of the national sporting calendar of the Bulgarian Swimming Federation. The organizers from Burgas municipality have extended an invitation to the legend of open water swimming Petar Stoychev to be an official guest at the event. The 8,000 Leva in prize money will be distributed among the men and women, aged 16 to 35, who will quality 1st to 6th, and those over 51 who qualify 1st to 3rd.

Besides the numerous swimmers and enthusiasts from Bulgaria, there will be many contestants from other countries taking part in the swimming marathon as well.
