The helicopter that dropped 100 kg of marijuana on Turkish territory did not take off from Bulgaria, the Director of the General Directorate Border Police Chief Commissioner Anton Zlatanov said for Nova TV.

"The three detainees are nationals of Turkiye. We are working well with our Turkish colleagues. The information from the Turkish side and the coordinates of entry and exit of the aircraft to and from Turkiye show that the two points are on the Greece-Turkiye border. There is no evidence that the helicopter flew over the Bulgaria-Turkiye border. There is no official information that the aircraft took off from Bulgaria or landed in Bulgaria", said Chief Commissioner Zlatanov.

On July 17, Turkish media reported that an unregistered helicopter was flying at a low altitude to avoid radar detection and dropped bags of drugs near the town of Kirklareli.
