Extreme heat and thunderstorms, code red for dangerous temperatures in 7 areas on Wednesday
It will be hot on Wednesday. A red weather warning for extreme heat is in place for the districts of Rousse, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Haskovo, Yambol and Burgas. Northwesterly winds will carry a cold front after noon and temperatures will drop sharply, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail. Minimum temperatures will be 22 to 27°C, in Sofia - 22°C. The maximum will be from 33 to 43°C, in the capital - 36°.
Over the Black Sea it will be sunny, with showers in the northern regions in the evening. Maximum air temperatures will be from 32°C in the north to 38°C in the south. The sea water temperature is 24-26°C. The sea swell will be 2-3.
Before midday it will be sunny in the mountains, too, with afternoon showers over the western mountain ranges. The temperature at 1,200 m will be up to 29°C, at 2,000 m - up to 22°.
On Thursday the wind will bring the temperatures down, the precipitation will head east.
