GERB-SDS: Derogation for import of Russian oil should be cancelled

The derogation for the import of Russian oil should be cancelled, proposed GERB-SDS MP Delyan Dobrev at a meeting of the parliamentary Budget Committee. According to him, Lukoil has earned billions from importing oil into the country, thus co-financing Russia's war against Ukraine.

"Given that the derogation expires in 2024, the company should present a plan on how by to phaze out Russian oil imports and achieve zero imports without causing a shortage of oil products in the country," Finance Minister Assen Vassilev said.

The minister also said that withdrawal of Lukoil's concession of Rosenets Port must be well thought out and should be carried out only once a report has been prepared on exactly how to proceed. According to him, there are NRA and customs offices at the port and everything is in order - their control mechanisms work, measurement devices are installed, there is 24-hour surveillance.
